It wasn't completely intact when I received it. There were splits in the seams of the outer housing. I contacted the seller to let them know about the problem so that they packaged their next ones better. I kept mine and fixed it with some wood glue and heavy duty clear tape. Sure I could have sent it back, but since it was an easy fix I thought why.I love that the shelves are adjustable so that I can stagger the spacing to fit my needs, and it is a very beautiful piece that blends in well on my small writing desk. When I unpacked it, it had pieces broken off, which did not affect the product use or looks: the side pieces (which are vertical on left and right of opening) protrude just a bit on the back side. That little lip had nearly snapped off on both sides, along the grain of the bamboo, so I just pulled the pieces off and threw them away.
