I have used Pentel marker pens for over 30 years in scientific and domestic situations, and they are very versatile, leaving a deep black mark, provided the pigment sticks on the surface. However, it contains a water-phobic solvent, so it may not be effective on damp surfaces - I know they won't mark damp glass- or plastic-ware. I might suggest acrylic paint instead, as that is water-based. **Q: £3.64 for a pack of 12. Are you sure?** A: I can't remember buying these at this price (may have done) but can say it's very rare to have a problem through amazon. The pens appear to have been designed primarliy for proffesional use and are very well made. They are metal bodied (as opposed to plastic). The felt tip has a nice firmness that allows accurate marking and writing.
