Sounds like it's noting more than reverse osmosis. :(** A: When I tested two bottles freshly opened with a reasonably calibrated PH meter the result was 8.5 to 8.8. This is not what distilled water should be. It should be a neutral ph of 7 if in an unopened bottle. If opened for long enough and exposed to atmosphere then apparently the water will absorb co2 and result in a reduced PH of about 5.5. A PH of 8.6 indicates that this water is alkaline, meaning that there are dissolved minerals, meaning that it’s not distilled water. I agree with you that something is fishy. **Q: What do I do with the bottles when they are empty?** A: I get 12, 1gal jugs. After distilling you are left with just water and no minerals, contaminates, flavors or whatever, perfect for use in a medical humidifier so it doesn't leave any residue behind.Not quite sure why, but this brand cost about twice as much as I usually pay, normally a 1 gallon jug of generic distilled water is usually about a dollar. Honestly I wouldn't have paid this much but I was running low and amazon was out of generic distilled which I usually buy.With spring water there are differences in minerals, taste and other things, but distilled water is pretty much all the same so there's no reason to pay more for a name brand if you don't have to. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best for baby formula *by K***H on April 24, 2022* I used to use mineral water as per suggested but my daughter would end up with stomach aches.
