Personal guess though! **Q: Is this ok for pug dog** A: Better for short hair dog than long haired one! **Q: Would it be ok for a long hair kitten?** A: No... I bought this & it just wasn’t very good in general. I have a Norwegian Forest cat who has long hair & it just didn’t work all that well! It also works well on my wirey Patterdale x. I have had a furminator in the past, and this works just as well on my short haired ones as the Furminator did.I think people are expecting cats to stop shedding so much after one brush, unfortunately, it doesn't work like that. The more frequently you groom them, the less they will shed. This isn't an immediate thing, it happens gradually over time. You can't brush a cat once a month and expect less fur.
