## Description

The AAXA P5 is the World's Smallest 300 Lumen Pico Projector. It revolutionizes mobile projection by mating a lithium ion battery with LED Projection technology. This union creates a no compromise portable projector that can deliver high quality images both plugged in or on battery power. With it's third generation optical system, the P5 features a brilliant 300 Lumen optical engine powered by 15,000 Hour Vibrant Color LEDs and a native HD resolution of 1280x720. This optical power house enables the P5 to deliver vivid 100" displays in dark areas and usable displays in brightly lit areas - a first for mobile projection.

Review: This is a very small, light and bright projector. It is not as small as those "shirt pocket" projectors but this one is 300 lumen vs 50 lumen for the shirt pocket ones. It is small and light enough to easily fit in a handbag or briefcase, yet versatile enought with VGA/HDMI and even composite input. The projector is bright enough to project a 60-80 inch image even with some ambient light, but you will not want to go any larger than 80 inch. This projector has a very soft image, and low apparent resolution. Blowing it any larger than 80 inches makes the image virtually unviewable due to the image softness. The best image mode is the standard mode but it is very soft. Changing it to other modes shows very harsh pixelation and scaling artifects that will significantly degrade the image. You might not notice it as much in video content, but switch to data/text mode and the image is horrible, especially if you blow the image up. The reason why there is so much scaling artifect is due to the projector showing a "recommended" resolution of 1920x1080. This is a marketing gimmick that makes people think it is a native 1080p projector but seriously degrades the image. Whatever device you plug it into - whether it is chromecast, HDMI or PC/laptop input, it will show 1920x1080 as the "recommended" resolution and hence devices will output 1920x1080 to the projector to match the resolution. This caused scaling issues since the projector's native resolution is 1280x720. Even switching resolution to 1280x720, sometimes the projector still defaults to 1920x1080 but accepts a scaled 1280x720 resolution input. You can check what input resolution the projector is accepting by pressing the "ok" button. It will show up on screen, most of the time it will be 1080p, which is absolutely the WRONG resolution. Once you force the resolution to 1280x720p by changing resolution setting on a PC or laptop, the default image aspect ratio in "Auto" mode will automatically overscan, showing an image that is again scaled larger. You must set the aspect ratio to "Just Scan" mode to make sure the image does not scale. Even when the input is set to 1280x720 at Just scan mode, there is still some artifect, especially when you turn up the sharpness, making text fonts extremely coarse and rough. Again, the only way to fix this is to set the projector to "Standard" mode but this shows a very soft image. Hence you should never project an image larger tha 80 inches or it will look bad. No matter what I did, adjusting the resolution, aspect ratio, focus etc, I could not get it to display a readable text in fonts smaller than 9pts. This is pretty much the limit of the projector. Text at 12pts is readable if you optimize the projector, otherwise it will be pretty bad and barely readable. The removable battery concept is excellent. The battery seems to last pretty long but using battery will lose some brightness - you can't set the image brightness to the brightest "bright" mode on battery, it is reserved for AC only. Setting the brightness to "standard" mode yields 90 minutes battery life, and setting the brightness to "eco" is even darker but will give you 120-135 minutes battery. The fan noise correspond to the brightness mode - "bright" mode is pretty loud, "standard" mode is a bit softer and in "eco" mode, the fan noise is much reduced and is barely noticeable. Overall this is a decent projector given the size and price. As long as you set the input resolution to 1280x720 and set the aspect ratio to "just scan", the image quality is acceptable at 40-60 inches. Anything larger than 80 is a no-no due to limited brightness and softness of the image. I wish AAXA would come up with a new firmware to fix the image softness and scaling issues. Just set the default input resolution to 1280x720 would solve half the image issue. If they can elimitae scaling on HDMI/VGA input completely so that the input to image is a 1:1 ratio, then I will revise my review to 5 stars. I have attached two images - the first is a high resolution photo of the P5 displaying a 1280x720 image - see how it is UNABLE to display a single pixel line? The single pixel lines are all blurred into a grey mess. The second image is the original resolution chart showing single pixel vertical and horizontal lines. Compare the two images on your monitor and you will see how unsharp thsi projector is. The projector is adjusted to the sharpest focus and no matter what sharpness settings I set it to, it is unable to resolve the single pixel line. Also attached another resolution chart that you can use. On a normal projector or monitor at native resolution you will see all distinct lines and individual dots. If the image is scaled, the dots will show moire patterns and the lines will be blurry. AAXA need to fix this blurryness and allow the projector to display single pixel line!!! ----------------------------------- EDIT 4/26/2017 I emailed AAXA on this issue, Michael from AAXA is extremely helpful and get their R&D to create a new firmware to send to me that provides 1:1 DLP mirror to input pixel ratio. I can now read fonts as small as 7 points! There is now no more ugly scaling artifacts as long as you use HDMI and set your resolution to 1280x720 with no scaling on your graphics card. It displayed the test patterns perfectly! I am now extremely happy with the projector and how AAXA stands behind and support their product! Highly recommend this projector for any computer related display! If you need the new firmware, just email AAXA at info@aaxatech.com and they will send it to you. The latest firmware is dated 4/19/2017 that fixed this issue!

Muy bueno, se ve muy nítido cuando se usa la entrada HDMI , tiene suficiente brillo para un espacio cerrado con abundante luz difusa no necesita que esté obscuro
