I used to cut out on the floor but using a lot of silk and jersey these days (and with 2 chihuahuas taking over) that's not possible any more. Cutting out on my foldable tables (doubled up) has made it so much easier with a better result on the fabric and also my back. I bought Olfa blades and mats as these are the ones everyone seems to recommend and I havent been disappointed.
