The vitamin D3 itself - Cholecalciferol – is usually derived from Lanolin (the grease from sheep's wool) so is suitable for vegetarians, but not for vegans, so it is a shame that Cheeky Nutrition will loose a sizeable percentage of the potential market for this product as both vegans and vegetarians will have to avoid it. As a vegetarian myself I asked my wife – not a vegetarian- to try these capsules and report back; she found them easy to swallow without too much unpleasant aftertaste and no adverse reactions. Each capsule contains 1000iu of vitamin D3, which is 500% of the NRV for this nutrient, so may offer some health benefits during the winter months when there is less sunshine around. Like with all food supplements some users may benefit more than others and these vitamin D3 capsules are no exception – they shouldn't do you any harm but may not actually do you that much good either. Currently around eleven pounds from Amazon for a bottle of 180 these capsules are reasonable value and will give a six month supply at the recommended one-a-day dosage.
