(I did put them in lingerie bags and gentle cycle). So I've had to snip a few threads. Hoping they will hold up; will update after several more washings. Original revivew: These are fantastic hankies!! I much prefer cloth handkerchiefs over tissues, because they are so much softer and more gentle on my nose, AND kinder to the environment, as well as more economical in the long run. These hankies are wonderfully soft and absorbent (after washing - skip or minimize fabric softener though, as that impedes absorbency). They are generously sized, and a bit heavier/thicker than most women's hankies (many of which are so thin they seem to be more for appearance than actual use). They appear well-made, and like they will hold up well over time. The colors are beautiful, and the subtle textural design gives them a rich, elegant look.
