When I first held the vinyl siding mount up to my siding, I didn't think it would line up and sit flush with all the angles. However, once I screwed it down, it matched great! I put some caulking around it to make it weather proof (except for the very bottom, which seems to have a super small drain hole at bottom center so if any water does get in it will drain). I used this vinyl siding mount for my flag mount/holder. I marked the holes for the flag holder onto the vinyl mount and the then drilled holes in the vinyl mount. This worked well. The vinyl mount's plastic is hard and strong. (There are premarks on back of vinyl mount to cut out a rectangle or circle to use with an electrical box, but I didn't use those). I simply used four screws through my flag holder and through the vinyl mount holes I drilled to attach to my house! Worked well! Then I put caulking around (please excuse my sloppy caulking job in the photos). I have cheap plastic vinyl that has lots of play and flaps around.
