It is an excellent choice to exhaust attic heat in the summer to reduce hot attic temperatures. And, to exhaust moisture in the winter to keep the attic dry and cool to preserve attic insulation and prevent ice dams. The Aura Ventilation product line is made of durable rust free aluminum. Model AV-12-C2 is made up of 3 components: the vent head, collar and flange. Model AV-12-C2 is a 12 in. Dia. vent with a 2 in. collar height and 18 in. x 18 in. square flange. It has 113 sq. in. of Net Free Air Space. Its low profile is best used for a sloped roof. When air moves against the louvers of the outer cylinder it is directed to create a circular airflow. The louvers of the inner cylinder face in the same direction as the air movement created by the outside cylinder. This air movement creates a venturi effect which produces a vacuum or negative pressure to pull air from within the attic space. The vent head has a flat one piece spun lid that prevents rain and snow from entering the vent verses the turbine vent which is open to the weather elements.
