Lithium ion battery. Lithium iron phosphate based starter battery. Lithium-ion batteries are extremely light compared to conventional lead-acid or gel batteries. They have ideal charging properties and minimal self-discharge. In contrast to conventional batteries, the lithium-ion battery can provide almost 100% of your total capacity for starting and can be used until fully discharged. This type of battery can reach up to 2000 charging cycles, which is about 6 times the life of conventional batteries. With suitable chargers, a quick charge is possible in which up to 10 times the charging current can be used. A charge to 90% capacity is therefore possible in under 10 minutes. Thanks to the dry technology, this type of battery can be installed in any position. No liquid electrolytes are included. A uniform charge/discharge of the individual cells is ensured by the so-called microprocessor-controlled battery management system (BMS). The overall performance results in a significant reduction in operating costs despite the comparatively high purchase price.
