When mounted to thin metal, or in a vertical application (ex.the side of a fridge or a toolbox), the strength of the magnetic hook diminishes about 2/3 due to shear forces. The hooks thread into the magnet base. Any correctly sized thread can also be threaded into the magnet base to customize your application.
