It's so nice to go out on a run and not have the water I'm drinking be the same temperature as the very hot air! The water in the tube still gets a tad warm but once you consume that, the rest is very cold. I took it out for a 3 hour run Sunday and was very happy. Review: The easiest reservoir to keep clean - I've had many variations of the HydraPak in every size, spanning back five years or so. This version is the best yet, with one minor complaint. First, my older HydraPaks all leak from the bottom for some reason--not much, but enough that the bottom of my pack gets damp within an hour. This one hasn't leaked (been using it a month). The nozzle is better, in that instead of twisting there's a lever you flip. You can do it one-handed (with practice). There's also a magnet that you can attach to your pack, which keeps the mouthpiece in a convenient place. The magnet isn't that strong, but it's thoughtful. Also, they got rid of the stupid plastic strip stuck smack in the middle of the reservoir on the inside. It was designed to help it stand up better, but it didn't, and it made it impossible to flip the reservoir inside-out for cleaning. (I used to carefully cut it out with scissors.) The only negative on this version is the thick strap on the outside. It's nice to have that for carrying or refilling, but again, it makes it VERY hard to flip the 3L inside-out. I guess I could cut that part off too, but if the strap were more flexible this wouldn't be an issue. The slide opening at the top is very convenient and much better for cleaning. The hose is insulated like the bladder, both feel very durable. The bite valve is a little hard but I easily got used to it.
