R98 Casting Alloy Pewter. An excellent casting pewter that contains approximately 98% Tin, 1.5% Bismuth, 0.5% Copper. The bismuth helps minimize shrinkage for small details. The melting temperature is around 466 - 590 F. Each ingot weighs approx 1 pound and measures approximately 3/4" x 1-1/2" x 4". Our lead-free pewters are used for the finest jewelry, gifts, collectibles, novelty items, accessories, awards, and decorations. These alloys can also be used to cast into plaster of paris, sand, and rubber molds.

**Q: how much of this would add to lead forbullet casting(Brinell hardness of 20)?**
A: you have to add antimony,   this would not get hard enough

**Q: How hard/durable is this alloy? I need to cast fine details in pendant, earring, and ring form.**
A: Yes, it's plenty hard.  You can get some fine detail from your cast but not quite as well as you will from silver. There is more weight in the material so it might be too heavy for earrings.  Good luck. We put a layer of fingernail polish over the surface to protect and shine.
