I've never had an actual toilet paper storage like this in any of my bathrooms utilizing closets, etc. But in my new house space is limited and the closet is on the other side of the hallway. I've splurged on the soap dish and now the toilet paper storage and it looks great. I wondered if much of the check would be seen with the toilet paper on top. Actually it does show a good amount right underneath and of course the sides.
