**Q: Do your kids actually still play with it? How often?**
A: I bought this for my GGrands. When they are over they love to play with it. My 9 yr. Old plays with it if he thinks no one is watching. All 6 of them have loved this Grocery store. It is also very sturdy.

**Q: What size batteries are needed?**
A: Yes you need 2AA batteries for the scanner to beep and light up and the calculator to work... but it can be used without batteries too just won't beep or light up when scanned.

**Q: Does the card swiping machine make noise?**
A: It does not make noise powered by a battery. However, it does come with a “credit card” that you may swipe. The ridges on the card make a slight noise.

**Q: Are the two pieces attached or can they be displayed side by side?**
A: Hi! The Grocery Store is assembled in an L-shape. The pieces may not be displayed separately.

I had some anxiety about putting this together but once I got started I actually had fun. The instructions was the best I've ever used and I've assembled a lot of things. With these instructions they made assembly so easy and to me it was fun. It took me several hours to assemble it because I didn't have my husband who usually hekp and I had only a hand screw driver ( battery powered drill will be much faster). My confidence was busted once I had finished assembling it and everything worked as it should. Tbe only complaint is that the screw to open the battery case is small. I had to go to Walmart to get a eye glass repair kit to get a screwdriver that small. That's my only complaint. I hope the Melissa and Doug kitchen set I got has instructions just like this has. My husband and I only have one grandchild we are 53 and 56 so she have us all to herself and wa to for nothing. This Christmas I'm redoing her room for her Christmas gift. It will be the Melissa and Doug Kitchen and grocery store all the Melissa and Doug food for the kitchen and store, money for the cash register, purse set, twin baby dolls, high chair, play pin and food for the babies and life size Ellsa and friend wall stickers and 2 Olaf life size stickers. Sorry for over sharing I'm a proud Nana. Anyway this product is a must have.
