**Q: need to reconnect severed mains wiring for a hedge cutter.  Which type do I need.  Standard 15 amp socket house mains supply?**
A: This is not suitable for connecting outdoor equipment. What you need is a 2PFC10 orange plug connection, this is a far safer way of connecting a hedge cutting power cable. Amazon supply these plugs I checked to get the right reference number for you.

**Q: approximately how big are the connectors**
A: Not having one of these connectors at home (they are on a car are I am refurhbishing) and working from memory they will accept a cable upto 1.5mm, they are approx 4/5mm dia with an overall length of about 25mm. Hope is helps.

**Q: Looking at connecting standard speaker wire, would blue be a good option?**
A: I used red connectors but it all depends on thickness of speaker cable

**Q: whats the best tool for applying these to wire?**
A: make sure that you have a pair ie 1 male and 1 female connector. pare back insulation about 1/8" to expose copper wire, ensure copper wire is twisted tight so there are no loose strands, insert wire through hole in end of connector and crimp with crimping tool or a pair of pliers ensuring that you don't break connector

these terminals are very good quality for the price, ok they're not up to oem wiring harness quality but i've carried out many repairs and they all hold perfectly well, i haven't split/burst/destroyed any of these terminals while crimping whereas many other products have gone to bits, recommend product.
