The recessed gold edge around it keeps it from gathering dust where a protruding frame would, that's a really nice little touch. It looks so classy. It's actually bigger than I thought it'd be, I half expected to be duped by the product photos, & to receive something smaller than I expected. The room I put it in is large, & tends to dwarf a lot of decor items, but this ended up being a great fit! Small caution: It's heavy! While the mounting equipment was very straightforward, with 2 screws w/ drywall plugs, and 2 little metal hanger bits on the back of the morror, once I got the screws in the wall, I struggled quite a bit by myself to hold the mirror up and catch it's hangers onto the screws. If I had any shoulder or ab injury, I don't think I could've lifted it at all by myself, And I mounted it thankfully into a stud on one side, It's actually so heavy that I think I would've worried about it pulling through the wall & falling even with the drywall plugs.
