I have these newly on 8 doors in the house. The lack of a star is for this: I’m sensitive to sound, and by that I mean - I hear everything! It’s not that I’m bothered, but more so if, for instance, I was wanting to be stealthily locking and unlocking this knob with someone like me in the house (or during dead silence) - good luck. I really want to give this knob 4.5 stars, because I feel it’s great quality and an extremely good value at the price of $13 ish. A lot of y’all won’t care at all that you can hear the lock click into place when locking/unlocking it from the inside with the turn dial (not with the key), and so if you don’t, this is a worthy purchase! If you are more on the wanting to be sound-stealthy side, then you may want to weigh your options. I’m assuming quieter ones would be more expensive. Maybe it will be worth it to you, maybe it won’t. Most people don’t pay attention to stuff like this, but just incase. And, I did try adding some WD-40 to the turn dial and i to the key hole, but those aren’t the problem, they were already fine, it’s truly the mechanism on the inside that makes the sound.
