Inside is a plastic collet style clamping system (clamps onto the hose when the plastic fittings are tightened). So you basically have to cut off the entire length of hose from the fitting to the leak (use whichever fitting end is nearest) and insert the non-leaking section back into the collet and retighten the plastic connectors. You will lose the length of hose you had to cut.
