Night has fallen and your mind is floating in a magical world of dreams. But rest eludes you—the Dream Spirits want to have some fun tonight! Communicate with the Dream Spirits and try to interpret their messages in When I Dream, new from Repos! Become the dreamer, put on your sleep mask, and try to figure out your dream and which spirits are the Naughty ones. Become a Good Spirit and help the Dreamer by giving him clues about the dream before the Naughty Spirits mess it up. You can learn how to play in a few minutes and have a great laugh right from the start. Each role is both challenging and entertaining, giving the game more depth according to the player's imagination. When I Dream truly provides a wonderful experience with a unique dream every round.

This is a competitive party game where players change roles each round, so everyone gets to be the dreamer and most people get to try out being all 3 other characters. Good replayability if you keep playing with different groups, but familiarity with the cards can lead you to be able to guess the correct answer more quickly depending on clues given. Only complaint is that some cards are a bit too specific, like fir tree. It's not difficult to get someone to guess pine tree, but fir tree is a very specific tree. In general, most cards are not very specific, so the dreamer won't be thinking to guess a more detailed word.

Not only is the artwork on the cards stunning, but the overall material and quality of the items are very well made. They're sturdy and don't feel cheap like many games do. Everything is well thought out and executed! The only concern was with the scoring directions. Many of my friends got confused and even myself at first. After the 2nd or 3rd time playing, it's not too hard. Shipping was incredibly fast too.

**Q: Are most of the people shown in the imagery white? The sample images only show one non-white person, and he seems to be a villain.**
A: If you are speaking on behalf of the sandman, he is not the villain. Otherwise it seems as if both the Boogeyman (could be considered the villain) and the fairy are both white.

**Q: Can two player play this some way?**
A: Not at all the way the game is intended.  The fun of the game is deciding who who can be trusted, who can't be trusted and who is switching sides.  Like most party games, this is a great with higher player counts.

You could try the two-player version of Codenames.  (Use Dixit cards for fun.)  It's also possible to play Mysterium or Muse with two players, but again, party games are better with more.

**Q: Could a group of 8-10 year olds play this solo?  Or would they need an adult to help or lead?**
A: I would say you need to play it with them a couple times first and then it could be played with just younger kids. Very fun game, just gotta teach them the rules.

**Q: Is this game's replayability is bad seeing the limited amount of cards and being able to recall words (and images) played before?**
A: I would say no. Not because of the limited words. There are 400 different words in the deck and you will not usually go through them in one sitting. And the hints that you give for words may be repeated but they will likely be with a different group if people on a separate occasion. That actual limit to the playability of this game comes from the level of participation of the group you are playing with. If people don't want to make up dreams or aren't as inventive with their strategy then the game will not be as fun... and therefore wont receive as much play

When I Dream is a party game in which one player takes on the role of a dreamer and wears a blindfold. The other players at the table are given hidden roles, which are not revealed to anyone during play. The three possible roles include: a Sandman, a boogie man, and a dream fairy. In the center of the table is placed a small plastic-molded bedframe which contains a deck of cards. Each card is beautifully illustrated, and features two prominent themes/items on each side. These two items are named on the top and bottom of the cards - each different. When placed into the plastic bed frame (deck holder) and held in place by a plastic pillow, only one of the two names is visible. All players except the blindfolded dreamer take a few seconds to look at the card and make sure they each know the name of the item on the card. Then, a two minute sand timer is started. Each of the players at the table give a one word clue about the item named on the card. However, not every player actually wants the dreamer to correctly identify the name of the item on the card. The Dream fairies each give good clues because they get points for words that are correctly named. The boogie man characters will give for clothes because they get points for every word that is not correctly named.
