Flashband is easily applied using just hand pressure and a seam roller and is ideal for new build, maintenance and repair projects. Suitable uses Roofing: Replace damaged lead flashing, seal upstands and eve pieces, use for roof capping, edge flashing on roofing felt, and to repair roofing felt or joints on flat roofs. Drainage: Use to seal or repair valley gutters, guttering and down pipes. Four layers of protection Flashband has four layers of protection – a lacquer coating, heavy duty aluminium foil, tear resistant polyester membrane, and a polymer enhanced bitumen adhesive – meaning it’s both tear and impact resistant and can withstand extreme temperatures of up to 100°C. Review: Great value flashing tape that sticks well - A bit tricky peeling the backing off but this stuff is great. Used it to repair my flat roof where it had a crack & to seal around a stack pipe that went through the roof & had been bodged with silicone they shrank leaving a gap. Sticks really well, no rain to test it yet but looks like it will do the job.
Review: Excellent product - I used this very sticky flashing tape to repair rotting, but very dry wood on the lower half of my summer house doors before - the rain arrived. It worked a treat! I used 2x10m rolls and this completed 8 doors perfectly using 4 x15mil wide strips on each door panel (43W x 47H) Don't forget to allow extra for the overlaps... I used very sharp, long-bladed scissors to cut the required strips and it cuts like butter and is easily shaped. I found a knife 'gummed up' very quickly and did not cut nearly as neatly as the scissors. It's worth having some white spirit to hand to clean your tools. Don't be tempted to pull the backing off before you have the flashing in exactly the right position. Once it's stuck it's a nightmare to unstick! Be advised that it comes off the roll wrinkled and there's nothing you can do to iron them out. You can overpaint easily with water based paint. (two coats.) I would recommend for all sorts of jobs.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I just bought some, gives very little information on how to make it stick!**
A: You want to place it in the sun for an hour if possible before use. If at room temperature it should stick to many surfaces. If not, heat briefly with a gas gun as you lay it on. Also you can use a wallpaper edging roller once it’s in place to help make it bond.

**Q: Will it work to stop lead flash slipping on a slate roof.**
A: Yes, you can use it to replace damaged lead flashing too, adheres to slate, stone, brick, wood etc,,.

**Q: Can this be painted over ?**
A: I’ve only used sealant paint on it no problem, it sticks to it and doesn’t peel off. 
I think gloss paint would be fine.

**Q: is it butyl**
A: Yes, needs to be heated slightly, a hairdryer works and is then very easily worked into place.

Used in my coping stones to repair the joints. I painted over these to definitely make sure no water could leak through. We had a leak last year and we could only put it down to the joints. So far so good. Good preparation is key - clean and use a roller to press the tape to confirm it has stuck
