Does the student need a separate carrier for their bow with the device on the bow?** A: The frog does not fit in most cases and so I often use the fish alone. However when I want to use the frog I have to problem solve for each student's violin case and routine. Even with these hassles it's a great tool. **Q: after using this for a while, can kids do a proper bow hold without it?** A: Yes, I usually remove the 'frog' front part after a few months and leave the 'fish' pinky holder up to a year. The frog part helps shape a rounded thumb but you still have to double check frequently that the kids are not cheating underneath. The pinky holder helps a lot with balancing the bow. For absolute beginners it makes introducing the bow much easier and it shapes the hand well for a proper bow hold - but you still have to check it frequently - it does not do the trick automatically! **Q: Is this a true pink or more coral?** A: It's not pink or coral at all. It's closest to purple **Q: Will this work for a left handed player?** A: My son's violin teacher is left handed and he still uses his right hand to play the violin. He had to learn it that way. So I guess you can use it.
