**Q: Does this opener notify you when the garage door has been opened?**
A: Yes, once you get connected to wifi and get your MyQ app set up, you can tell it to notify you when garage door status changes. Not sure what the technician was thinking with his answer. I just bought and installed this device and it works as I stated.

**Q: What is different about the new version?**
A: Remotes from older version and a ton of Homelink devices in older cars dont work on the new ones ......dont worry, they sell a device to make the homelink work, but its quite horrible....as long as they get their money......

**Q: What color is the "learner" button?  My existing unit has an orange button.**
A: The color of the learn button on the C273T/C273, is yellow.

**Q: does this garage door opener meets california rule?**
A: This was a replacement door opener for the Chanberlin opener because the backup battery cost almost as much as a new opener.  This replacement one is not quite as fancy as the previous one but it does the job.

I put mine in as a replacement for 40 year old job that had given up the ghost. I'm retired and I did it myself. That's not to say it was a breeze. There are parts of the installation where two people would be better. But I did it, so you may be able to as well, especially if your younger. The installation was pretty straight forward. I was able to use all the hanging hardware from the old opener and most of the wiring. I did this more than six months ago, and I'm extremely happy with this opener. The pricing at the time I bought it was very competitive. Especially considering the WIFI and battery backup. Because of the age and design of the old one, it was very loud. This one is the quietest I've ever heard. And it's smooth. But the best part is the Wifi. We can control, or check our garage door from anywhere in the world with the phone app that goes with this opener. And I get an alert on my phone every time the door opens and closes. And it's not obnoxious, just low tone, that does not intrude. And the application participates with Amazon which allows them "KEY" access to my garage for deliveries. No more packages sitting out in the snow or rain (we don't have theft problem here in our small town). It's been great. I would not want to go back. Or try any other openers. And by the way the battery backup was something I though was just a frill. But a month or so after installing. My wife was pulling into our garage when some neighbors came up to her to ask her how she was able to open her garage door, the power was down. So you never know. That was the first time the power had gone out in more than two years. We love it. And would recommend it to anyone.
