It's a 2 piece case that's plastic but doesn't seem cheap enough to snap easily so that's a plus. It does though makes your key look a bit bulkier. Its assembled to the chain part with a screw, you can use a flat head to loosen/tighten the screw thus allowing the chain to open & not allow any thing to be pulled off easily so that's another plus for me.
