I wanted to keep my pack dry. Last year I went out for a sunset hike and I forgot my rain jacket. I ended up using the 2nd one. I kept this one, I let it dry out and put it back in my pack for another day. Durable, lightweight, perfect size for 1-2 people with good coverage. Could squeeze in 3 with minimal exposure. Open all the way up perfect for 3-4 people. Also can be used as a sleeping bag if needed.

It's like crawling inside a giant mylar balloon. The material is thin, but seems strong enough to reuse multiple times. The seams and edges are reenforced and add structure to the bag shape. I only tested in a cool room, but it definitely took the chill off more effectively than a bedsheet which is comparable weight and thickness. Have yet to test in real conditions. I would say that for the money, it wouldn't hurt to put a few of these in your vehicle winter kit or bug out bag. I knocked off the star because the neat little storage sack is single use. The sack is great, but you'll never get the bag stuffed back into it once used.
