The last brand I tried didn't work, and then I realized it didn’t specifically state "Instant" in the name like this does. That's super important as not all clear gel is the same. This product IS instant clear gel, so it will work when you mix it with sugar and use it over berries and such, then bake. Non-instant clear gel needs heat application to start working, and it didn't gel my pies. This product is also quite affordable considering the size. If you make pies or crisps and freeze them, then bake them from frozen, this product will do the job exceptionally.
