A rare combo... - The controls can be a little confusing. The hardest part was to set the clock and backlighting function to always on. Has a decent size screen though. Radio reception is actually excellent even with the short whip antenna without a swivel. There is an EQ so you can taylor the sound to your liking. It picks up AM, FM, Shortwave, VHS, UHS, and the Weather band. So it has quite a wide coverage. It does Not, however, receive sideband. This would would have made it the ideal radio for me if it did. Hopefully, Raddy will come out with a similar model that includes this feature. For me, if it covered all the bands and side bands and options that the little 760 does, (yet has the MW sensitivity this radio does!) it would be for me a real winner! In any case, this is a great little radio! It has a few gimmicks that are just plain "gimmicky" but it is also a serious performer that will really surprise you! So unless you must have sideband in the shortwave, I think you will find this little radio will truly surprise you at how well it sounds and performs. However, the manual doesn't mention it, whereas it mentions connecting a bluetooth device to play (receive on the radio) with next/previous track selection. It's a little odd there's no transmit, since it has bi-directional bluetooth for the Radio-C App communication. Also, I don't know whether bluetooth play/receive mode and App control are mutually exclusive: if receiving audio, can the App still control the radio. I purchased this primarily for its looks. For its appearance I give it a 5/5. I'm located in Ottawa, Canada and I can get AM channels from Toronto, Boston and Connecticut at times. I can receive WRMI Miami on shortwave fairly clearly (even more so that the local CHU time signal from NRC), and I heard a station from Romania at one time. There's not much in my area wrt VHF and AIR bands so I don't use those. For reception I give a 3Β½/5. The app works well. It's a nice add-on though I don't see myself using it often, mainly to use the record function which is only available through the app. 4/5 The sound is great for a smallish radio, that additional rear speaker really gives it a good presence. It does offset the center of gravity and makes the unit a little tippy toward the rear so be careful not to put it on the edge of a table. FM sounds great! For sound 4Β½/5. There are two Bluetooth connections, one for the app and one for use as a Bluetooth speaker. The BT app connection works every time. The BT speaker connection sometimes fails to reconnect. (If you encounter this, power off the radio and wait for the LCD display to turn entirely off, then turn it back on and it reconnects - at least for me it does.) Bluetooth 3Β½/5. Adding an SD card (not included) is a great feature and I suggest getting one. It allows recording and also playback of a few digital audio formats. There's no sorting by Album or Artist or any of that. Just a track number on the LCD or a track title via the app. So I only put on maybe 5-10 files at any time. If I put an album on I'll concatenate the whole thing with mp3wrap to avoid having to cycle through multiple tracks. 4/5 The controls are good. They take a little getting used to as many buttons have multiple functions in different modes of operation or whether long-pressed or short-pressed. The auto-scan feature doesn't find anything on AM for me for some reason, even on strong local stations. FFWD and RWND in the playback mode are a little slow. For controls 4/5. Battery duration: if I use it a lot I have to recharge every few days. No complaints. 4/5 In brief I think this is decent unit and I have been having a lot of fun with it.
