They just seem very 'inexpensively assembled'. Very light, kinda insubstantial with what appears to be a very minimal use of glue and virtually no stitching. Makes me a bit nervous , as my Giant spd's seem like a substantial, quantum leap in discernible build quality. Time will tell, but they are comfy so there is that.
