What country of origin?** A: Zojirushi is a Japan-based company. The bottle itself says "Made in Thailand". I own many Zojirushi products and have always found them top notch, and this is no exception. **Q: Is it leakproof?** A: Partially leakproof. If it is turned upside-down while the cap is on, not much, if any, liquid spills out. However, I often have a tissue or napkin in hand when pouring coffee; there is a bit of leakage between the plastic top and the metallic shaft. **Q: How do you wash the spout? Does the spout come apart for cleaning?** A: I haven't tried taking it apart, because it doesn't look like it should. I soak the top in soapy water to get the coffee gunk out. I also take the vinegar water mixture from cleaning the coffee maker, pour it into the container while it is still hot, and run it through the spout. **Q: Is it dishwasher safe?** A: Just a guess, I have never put it in the dishwasher I would think the top plastic parts (not the silver top) would be top rack safe. the bottom can be easily cleaned with a bottle brush. No question is asked for insulation, it has more than 18 hours of keeping hot. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best vacuum bottle. *by M***. on October 10, 2015* This vacuum bottle caught my attention due to the unique vent design. The vent design is beautiful, so comfortable and convenient to use, and continues to work after 2.5 years of daily use. There is a downside to the vent design, which is that it may be hard to clean. I would not recommend using this for anything other than water, coffee and tea, but of course this may depend on your usage and cleaning habits. Regarding durability, I've bought one in 2013 and another in 2014, both continue to work perfectly and I have found their retention rating to be accurate. I'm amazed that it retains hot water for practically all day, I found their specs to be accurate: 167°F @ 6 hrs. / 117°F @ 24 hrs. Be advised there is another similar Zojirushi model, the SV-GEE50, which has a nonstick interior. I would not trust or recommend this type of feature since it's unknown what type of process or chemical they use to achieve the nonstick feature. Overall this Zojirushi SV-GHE50 Tuff Slim Stainless Stainless Steel is an excellent bottle, the best of its kind for hot water and coffee, highly recommended.
