It's been colder than a witches tit lately and it is far warmer than a knit beanie. Sheds a bit of Chinese rabbit hair but I stuck mine in the dryer for 10 minutes, NO HEAT and that fixed that. My head was never the least bit cold while wearing it and the ear flaps helped immensely too. The ear flaps do muffle sound a lot, sometimes making it difficult to understand speech at a normal volume, but they're warm, and so, I don't mind at all. I purchased this in size S/M and it fit perfectly. The materials and styling are high-quality. The hat would be 5 Stars if it weren't for the small loose hairs which shed and get everywhere. I tried shaking them out outdoors, and beating the fur lightly with my fingers to complete the shedding of the loose ones, but I'm not sure if the shedding will stop over time or not. For $36, I don't want to deal with the hassle and will be returning it. However, for others with a bit more patience, this hat is super warm and cozy and the fur is very, very soft.
