Set it to 6V, 3.5 pin, plugged it in, the toy flashed all it's lights once and then died. Christmas present bought on a store card, no receipt. Figured it was faulty and managed to get a refund thanks to Smyths quality customer service. A fee days later my Chromebook charger stopped charging unless you kinked it. EUREKA I thought, I have a universal charger the good people of Amazon recommend. I plug it in and my screen goes black. I appear to have a bricked Chromebook. Now I know the Chromebook is a charmingly useless piece of kit but this state is definitely a down grade! Coincidence? I think not. I don't recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Note before buying that unfortunately the cable comes out of the top of the odd shaped bulbous plug *by R***F on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 December 2020* Normally cables are attached to the bottom of 13A plugs i.e. opposite to the earth pin. Sometimes it doesn't matter but in my case I had to use an extension lead to avoid the body of the bulbous unit fouling its surroundings. I wish I had looked more carefully and chosen a standard conventional unit. It works OK though. The polarity of the output leads is indicated as the wire with the white streak is positive. ### ⭐ Failed after 6 months with buzzing and noisy signal *by G***T on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 April 2021* Had this adapter doing light occasional duty as supply for a console switch set as 9V. After about 5 month it started to buz annoyingly and injected noise into near by speakers. Bit of an electronics fail. I see that the return window is 1 month and no provided g'tee or return on failure showing that even the supplier has little confidence in this device.
