Even a single stain can be eliminated without necessarily having to act on the entire surface. It works perfectly only on very carbonate stones (with calcium carbonate mineral content greater than 80%). Granites, quartzites, all siliceous stones (or stones with low carbonate content) and some green marbles cannot be polished to a mirror finish with this kit. For this type of stones, a specific kit for granite is recommended (e.g. Virginia TU kit). Followed the simple instructions and half an hour later the marks were completely gone and the surface was like glass. I am very impressed and would recommend the product to anybody. Review: Good - But Is Not Perfect - The reality is that this will remove stains - acid stains that is - from your marble and granite top but it does not leave it in the perfectly shiny condition that it would have been when first installed. I used this on a black surface and it did indeed remove the acid marks which was an improvement no doubt. The (pricey) kit consists of four small abrasive pads which you Velcro to a small hand pad and then using successively finer grades you abrade the surface until the marks are gone. You then use a fine abrasive powder to complete the process. But you will still have abrasion marks albeit fine ones. So the overall effect is improved over the stains, I still can see where the marks were because I have not got the same surface finish as the original top had. This has now got me looking for some sort of finishing product that I could use to do a full and final job but so far I have not found that product yet.
