We had 50-100 ants all over our feeder at any one time, and they are totally gone. The 'stuff' goes on the underside of the BugSnub and the ants won't even try to cross it. It works like a repellant versus an insecticide or something sticky to trap them. The ants checked it out at first, but have stopped even trying. The bungie cord was too long for the way our feeder hangs, so we tied a knot in it to shorten it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works! *by J***. on January 24, 2018* The simplest review is the best: it works. There are few things more disgusting than opening up your hummingbird feeder and finding it full of ants. Yuk. I tried other unsuccessful solutions and then put this on my feeder. No ants--but they decided to go to a second feeder (clever buggers). So I ordered a second BugSnub for that one. It has been several months and I have not seen one ant, dead or alive, nor have I needed to refresh the gel. Yes, your feeder will hang about 6" lower, but the cord is not unattractive, and I see no reason why it could not be cut and knotted shorter if absolutely necessary. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth the extra cost of conventional "water cup" moats *by D***M on October 9, 2017* A nice improvement over even the largest "water cup" moats. 1- Last much longer, than 'water cup moats', at least in warm dry climates. Otherwise I'm refilling moats well before the nectar need changing.
