## Description

Ultimate Werewolf is an interactive game of deduction for two teams: Villagers and Werewolves. The Villagers don't know who the Werewolves are, and the Werewolves are trying to remain undiscovered while they slowly eliminate the Villagers one at a time. A Moderator (who isn't on a team) runs the game. Ultimate Werewolf takes place over a series of game days and nights. Each day, the players discuss who among them is a Werewolf and vote out a player. Each night, the Werewolves choose a player to eliminate, while the Seer learns whether one player is a Werewolf or not. The game is over when either all the Villagers or all the Werewolves are eliminated. The Deluxe Edition has 80 cards, a moderator scorepad, a Getting Started guide and a 24 page rulebook.

Review: Incredibly Entertaining Party Game - Bought a copy of this game after playing with some friends over the weekend. Just to clarify, desertcart sent me the wrong version. I received the deluxe version with the HUNTING PARTY expansion instead of the WOLFPACK expansion. I'm actually happy about this because I consider the HUNTING PARTY expansion to be the better of the two. The Breakdown: - It says you can play with as few as 5 people, but you should probably have at LEAST 6 (one to be game master). The more the better though, and it's not always easy to get a group that large together. - Sometimes the cards are vague and don't explain themselves well enough, so go over the rules for each card with everyone before starting any games. - Beautiful artwork! - Probably some of the most fun I've had playing games. We don't exactly play it PG, and alcohol only makes it more enjoyable. - Clever game play, and there are FOUR expansions that add new dimension. - I feel like deck protectors are a smart purchase to make with this depending on how rough your pals are with cardstock The Bottom Line: So. Much. Fun. All the lying and ridiculous accusations make for really animated and hilarious games. Switching out cards every round makes the game super dynamic and gives everyone a chance to play various roles in a very short period of time. Super easy to pick up, and it's so compact I'll gladly take it with me to every get-together and party.
Review: Great Game for Big Groups - I've had a lot of success using this with a large group (10-25 people). Players are given a "role". Most players are villagers, but a few are secretly werewolves, and the villager team must eliminate the werewolves before the werewolves eliminate the villagers. What's great about the deluxe version is that it adds a LOT of roles. There are plain villagers, but also many other options that you can mix in to keep things fresh. The "seer" can try to find werewolves at night. The "revealer" can try to guess who a werewolf is, but at the risk of being eliminated. You can add roles that have their own goals, outside of the villagers and werewolves. Compared to other "werewolf" games, this is a great choice, especially for larger groups. The regular "ultimate werewolf" is the same game, just with fewer cards. "One night werewolf" is similar, but is a shorter game for a little smaller group. Overall, a great game.

## Features

- Players are assigned secret roles on either the Werewolf (stay alive) or Villager (find the werewolves) team
- Includes more than 40 unique roles on 78 role cards, a 24-page Ultimate guide, and a moderator scorepad
- Bonus expansion may vary: “Wolfpack” with several engaging all-new wolf roles or "Hunting Party" with several engaging all-new hunter roles
- “A fantastic version of Werewolf—the best there is” –Tom Vasel, The Dice Tower
- 5-75 players, Ages 13 and up
- Includes the Wolfpack expansion
- Plays up to 75 players
- The best-selling top-rated werewolf game

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do you know how this game differs from One Night Ultimate Werewolf?**
A: In traditional Werewolf, players are assigned secret character roles, and through alternating night and day phases, werewolves eat one villager each night, while the villagers must team up during the day to uncover the werewolves through discussion, and hopefully lynch the perpetrators before the villagers are outnumbered. One Night Ultimate Werewolf promises to provide an experience similar to Werewolf, but in as little as 5-10 minutes. It caters for 3-10 players, and consists of just a single round of play lasting around 10 minutes at most, with no player elimination or moderator. It has three additional characters dealt to the middle of the table, to add some uncertainty to the mix. In addition to the traditional werewolves, villagers, and seer, there are several special characters, including a robber (who secretly switches another role with his own), and a trouble-maker (who secretly switches two other roles). This makes deduction possible, but it will be thwarted by the deception of any werewolves that are present! There are also optional characters you can add to the mix if you wish. At the end of discussion, players simultaneously vote on who to kill, and need to kill a werewolf in order to obtain victory. Werewolf/Deluxe and Ultimate editions require a large number of people typically 8 up to about 70. One Night Werewolf takes place over one day/night scenario where regular werewolf goes through a day/night cycle each round until one side has been eliminated.

**Q: So what would you recommend? This or One Night?**
A: Benefits with One Night: It can be played with a smaller group, so you get many more chances to use it.Benefits with regular:You can play regular werewolf. Which is really cool. And with large groups. Which is really cool. You can also play One Night using the regular cards. They are just a little more difficult to pick up. Place them on the edge of the table or a book or something and it's no problem!I would generally recommend Ultimate Werewolf Deluxe. You have a bigger and deeper game, and are not locked to just small games. It comes with this really nice rulebook with many tips on setups and game styles and advice to the moderator and players. And as said, you CAN play One Night with it. I did it many times! :)But if you know that you will almost never be more than cirka 8 people together, then I would recommend One Night.

**Q: As a teacher i have played werewolf with my students for years using my own cutout cards. is there something that makes this 13+? i teach younger.**
A: Hi, no there is nothing that makes it 13+. There cards don't have anything bad on them. The only thing I can think of is that it is a more mature game in a way, but I have played the game with kids as young as 6.

**Q: what is the least amount of players that can play this game?**
A: I believe the answer is 6 with one of those players being the moderator who runs the game and the other 5 the villagers. In this minimum player game 1 person is secretly a werewolf pretending to be a villager and the other 4 are villagers of some kind trying to find out who the werewolf is. I'd say to have the most fun with this game you'll want a group of 8 to 15 people to play. This allows you to use cards that you might not be able to enjoy with a group of 6.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's just as easy to look up the basic rules on Wikipedia and ...
*by A***E on October 9, 2014*

I played this game a few times with friends. Our group size varied between 6 to 12. It should be noted that one need not buy anything to play Werewolf. It's just as easy to look up the basic rules on Wikipedia and scratch out characters on 3"x5" notecards. Very fun and amusing. The key to success is in the narrators ability to keep the game moving. I found the hardest part of the game is initiating the lynching during day break. Most people I play with don't want to accuse others of wrong doing without having a hint of suspicion. That's where a good narrator is most important. The job of a narrator is to be impartial, but when playing in a totally passive crowd, the game can become stagnant. A good narrator will keep things lively and possibly throw in seeds of suspicion. Think of the old Bud Light beer commercials of the guy that starts the argument of "tastes great" vs "less filling". That narrator need not root out the wolf. That would be cheating. Provoking suspicion with a side story will definitely help in keeping the game in motion. As for this particular version of the game, I give it a 5 star rating. $20 may seem like a lot for a mere deck of cards for a simple parlor game, but it's $20 of saved time and the cards provide a nice theme. This version also has several variations of characters to help keep the game interesting. I've seen other pre printed cards for this game and I find this to be the best of the bunch. Tasteful artwork with amusing characters. The quality of the box and packaging is top notch.
