Review: Good but limited - This storage box is nicely made, has enough space for several power tools and is strong enough to resist a number of attacks. It is worth noting the picture of the box is deceptive and it is not as big as you may think - you can fit either several powertools (without boxes) in, or one Festool type systainer and a couple of power tools. I would recommend this for use in a shed or garage to provide some additional protection to your belongings. However, if you are looking at this to deter thieves in a van break in I would look to get something more substantial. This box is nicely made, but a couple of minutes with a crow bar and you would be in it. For a van and real protection you need to spend twice this price and get an Amorgard.

**Q: Can I fit a 17mm lock through it’s lock holes?**
A: Not sore. Hole is not very big and haven't measured it.

**Q: is it fire resistant ?**
A: it is made of steel so would expect to have short term fire resistance but it is not sold as fire resistant

**Q: What size is the hole for the shackle on the lock is?**
A: Same size as a medium hasp and staple

**Q: Is this water proof?**
A: THE UNITIS WELL CONSTUCTED, IT IS HEAVY DUTY, IT APPEARS TO BE HAND CONSTUCTED, BECAUSE THERE ARE TELL - TALE BUMPY WELD JOINTS ...  THE LID  HAS 90 DEGREE LIPS' THAT ... WHEN THE UNIT LID IS CLOSED ... OVERLAP THE WALLS.  THE ASSEMBLY FOR THE PADLOCK IS ALSO WELL DONE.  AS FOR BEING 'WATERPROOF'  ... IT IS NOT AN AIR TIGHT UNIT, NOR WOULD I STORE THE UNIT UNDERWATER, AND THE CORNERS OF THE 'LID LIP' ... AT THE LID FRONT ... WHICH I HAVE MENTIONED, ON MY UNIT, LACKS WELD POINTS ... IT IS JUST METAL BENT IN A LIP SHAPE TO OVERLAP THE WALLS AT 90 DEGREES ... ... HOWEVER ... THE UNIT IS IN ... - ALL - ... OTHER PLACES WELL ASSEMBLED AND WELDED AND THE METAL, IN MY OPINION, IS HIGH QUALITY AND THICK AND STRONG ... ASIDE FROM THE LACK OF WELD POINTS ON THE LID LIP CORNERS ... THERE ARE FOUR HOLES IN THE BASE ... PRESUMABLY SO THE UNIT CAN BE ATTACHED PEMENENTLY FOR SECUTITY RESONS' ... SO AS FAR AS BEING WATERPROOF, IT DEPENDS ... YOU COULD ELEVATE THE UNIT OFF WET GROUND AND PLACE AND SECURE A  WATER PROOF SHEET ON IT IF IT IS TO BE STORED OUTSIDE --- YOU COULD CONTEMPLATE PROTECTING WHATEVER GOES INSIDE IT IN WATER PROOF BAGS ... ETC. ... THE UNIT IS COMPLTELY COVERED INSIDE AND OUTSIDE WITH AN APPARANTLY STRONG ' BLACK ANNODISED ' PAINT - JOB.  I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE WERE FAR MORE ... - EXPENSIVE - SIMILAR UNITS AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE.  IN MY OPINION THIS UNIT IS A DECENT TRADE FOR THE PRICE, ESPECIALLY IN CONSIDERATION TO THE OTHER FAR MORE EXPENSIVE UNITS ELSEWHERE ... THE CAVEAT TO '"MY OPINION" ... IS THAT I AM NOT AN ENGINEER AND USE IT TI STORE VALUABLE PAPERS INDOORS  ... NOT TOOLS.

This storage box is nicely made, has enough space for several power tools and is strong enough to resist a number of attacks. It is worth noting the picture of the box is deceptive and it is not as big as you may think - you can fit either several powertools (without boxes) in, or one Festool type systainer and a couple of power tools. I would recommend this for use in a shed or garage to provide some additional protection to your belongings. However, if you are looking at this to deter thieves in a van break in I would look to get something more substantial.
