Este filtro y la bomba van en un lateral del acuario, como en un compartimento separado pero comunicado por una rejilla en la parte superior por la que los restos de comida que queden en superficie se van filtrando. El agua dura limpia bastante tiempo, sobre unos dos meses sin necesidad de realizar una limpieza en profundidad.
