Beautiful documentary on David Lynch, a true creative genius. His upbringing is well documented as well as where his inspiration comes from. It also covers his early shorts leading up to his first full length feature Eraserhead. Beautiful insight, and very inspiring, not only for David Lynch fans, but for artists in general. First, you have to be a David Lynch fan to get anything out of this. It’s mostly David talking about his life, with some minimal supportive visuals. One thing that always impressed me is how the body of his work contrasted so dramatically with the man’s plainspokenness. I wish there would have been a ‘part II’, because this monologue takes us from David’s (happy) childhood up to his ‘struggling artist’ years, and ends at the life events that allowed him to make Eraserhead. Too Short. 😊
