The book doesn't have tonnes of pictures, but it is a lovely story for children and can be read over a few evenings if need be. It is about a penguin chick who grows up and learns about the world he lives in and what it means to be an emperor penguin. It is gentle and well written and the audio version is nicely read. However, this is the first story he has had where there are more words than pictures. He has been absolutely enthralled and enchanted by Otto and his journey to becoming a fully grown penguin. While the illustrations are wonderful it is the actual story that has held his interest. This is a fantastic book to use as a transition from picture books to actual story books. I have read this to him about 20 times in the last 10 days!
