Review: One of the few that lists elemental calcium on the label - Without FDA oversight, it's always difficult to sort out which supplements might be reliable. A company that separates out and lists elemental ingredients tells me they might be more reliable and knowledgeable about the product they are selling. As a medical librarian I do a lot of research before choosing a particular formulation. While Ca-AKG has few human studies, the results of animal tests show some value in improving mitochondrial function, particularly in the gut. I was looking for a supplement that would supply added calcium - came across this formulation and after my research decided it might be beneficial for both the added calcium and improved function, and was a fairly low risk. After 3 months, I do notice improved gut function and much less discomfort and plan to continue taking this product. NOTE: tried to order it a few days ago and saw it was unavailable. Just before submitting this review a search using Longjuvity and/or Ca-AKG did not bring it up. Perhaps Longjuvity needs customer feedback to continue producing? Meanwhile, I've had to order another brand.
