After 3 months and tasing every week, this barrel was superior to the others at 2 months and 3 weeks. The others peaked at 2 months and 2 weeks to a decent bourbon then went harsh at 3 months. This barrel at 3 months was phenomenal, smooth Carmel, slight smoke taste. The best bourbon I’ve ever had and the same for everyone that tasted it. On the second use for whiskey, I had the same results with this barrel and the other 2 never had a smooth taste. This barrel was not as good looking at all and didn’t come with a stand or spigot and was a few bucks more but well worth it. This is the only barrel I will buy from now on. It will have a few leaks at first but the end result is second to none. Review: Too small but that's on me. Get one to match your size - It is solid and a great purchase with a good value. I like to oak age mead and also have a 5 gallon charred oak barrel. Mostly I make 10-30 or so gallons at a time, so 1 gallon was too small for the big projects. I don't use it as much, but when I do I like it. It produces the results you'd expect. I use it for my test runs which are usually smaller. ## Features - HOW DOES A SMALL 5 GAL WOODEN AGING BARREL WORK? Due to the high proportion of liquid in contact with the mini wood barrel interior, spirits can age up to 10x faster than a larger, commercial sized whiskey bourbon barrel, giving a balanced and aged flavor in weeks rather than years. - FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS on how to cure your handcrafted 5 gal oak wood barrel (20 L) and start sampling aged spirts or beer after just a few days. If desired, add Swish Barrel Essence Flavoring (not included) and in two weeks, your one-of-a-kind blend will be aged to perfection and ready to serve straight from the tap. Pour into a glass liquor decanter to stop the aging process. - BARREL AGED COCKTAILS - extract natural flavor elements from a charred, new American oak barrel 20 liter interior (such as vanilla, sweet spices and coconut ) and infuse them into any cocktail drink: The Manhattan, Martini, Negroni, Old Fashioned, Sazerac, Mint Julep and many more. - MULTIPLE AGING CYCLES - a five gallon barrel keg can be used for many years and makes for a great bar-restaurant liquor dispenser or addition to any man cave liquor cabinet. A unique gift for any whisky or bourbon enthusiast. - INCLUDES - One 20 liter (5 gallon) American oak bourbon barrel with 3/4" bung. Stand and spigot are NOT included but may be purchased separatly. For dimensions, see graphic size chart for new oak barrels. Alcohol NOT included! ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #107,290 in Kitchen & Dining ( See Top 100 in Kitchen & Dining ) #8 in Wine Making Barrels | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 73 Reviews | ## Images ![5 Gallon Oak Barrel, Wooden Whiskey Barrel & Wine Barrel, 20 Liter - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71wit1AOMpL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best bourbon barrel taste out there. *by M***T on June 25, 2026* I bought 3 different 1gallon barrels to start aging sweet corn spirits. Filled with water and was all sealed up within 30 minutes. Filled with moonshine a few days later and no leaks. I love that there is no spigot because to me thats just one more spot to leak. If flavor quality is as good as build quality I will be buying more of these! ## Frequently Bought Together - 5 Gallon Oak Barrel - Wooden Whiskey Barrel Wine Barrel (20 Liter) - for The Home Brewer, Distiller, Wine Maker - New American 20L Oak Barrels for Aging Whiskey, Bourbon, Mead (HERITAGE SERIES) - Wooden Stand, 3/4" Bung and Spigot for 5 Gallon Oak Aging Barrel (20 Liter) - Heritage Series Barrel Holder, Accessories for Bourbon, Whiskey, Wine Barrels, Cocktail Aging - American Barrel Wax for Sealing Leaks in Wooden Barrels (2oz) - For Wine Bourbon, Tequila, Mini Whiskey Casks and Kegs - Wood Barrel Wax Sealer For Small Oak Barrels for Aging Whiskey --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/536824141-5-gallon-oak-barrel-wooden-whiskey-barrel-and-wine-barrel](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/536824141-5-gallon-oak-barrel-wooden-whiskey-barrel-and-wine-barrel) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
