On recommenedation, I had tried a wood pellet type litter instead of the standard grit type. Instead of grit all over the house I now had little wood pellets that disintigrated into sawdust if someone stood on them and I contsantantly had a brush in my hand. My house also smelt of damp urine smelling wood. Although more expensive, Colour has restored my sanity. The tiny sand type grains easily clump together and you can just scoop them out, without having to refill the entire tray and smell is completely contained. Although my cat still bring some of the litter out with him it is minimal and because of the size of the grains practically invisible. This litter is also very gentle on an old cats paws. Having tried other silicia based litter, the granules are large and hard (almost like rock salt) an you can hear them crunch when cat is using. I will no longer use any other litter as this is perfect for me and my cat. I was actually surprised it clumps very well, its not completely odor free but certainly better than most litters i have used. Its has minimal wastage compared to silicone crystals and actually will last a month I am on week 3 and just used second half of the bag.
