Review: Love these mounts for a "through hole" camera installation... - I have purchased many of these in the last few months. I do not use them as a "shoe" but they are a great way to mount a camera to anything you are willing to drill. I used them for my rear dash cam ( JooVuu X ) and on all my shooting headsets to mount my action camera ( Contour ROAM3 ). They are very sturdy and light because they are made of aluminum. I have been putting on and off the camera between all my headsets and I have had no problem with any of them. I found these mounts so useful that I decided to keep a couple extra in my drawer at all times because I am sure I will need them for other cameras and one that comes to mind is my spare Arlo Pro 2 camera.

**Q: How tight does this fit into a dslr? does it have wiggle or is it sturdy? also, how long is the tip with the two knobs ran all the way down?**
A: These fit pretty tight. Worth the price.

**Q: Before I give poor review, are all shoe inserts much smaller than the mount? I can wiggle it 20 degrees either side!! Should it be snug with no play?**
A: Little wiggle  is fine  and it depends on what you are mounting it (steel ,plastic ...) but if it is a lot   maybe  the shoe mount is not standart .

**Q: Is that a 1/4-20 threaded tap, and does it go all the way through, please? The photos do not show it.**
A: Yes, it's 1/4-20 and it goes all the way through. (It wouldn't be very useful if it were only tapped from the top. Being able to screw it onto a bolt from the bottom of the cold shoe is critical.) Happy shooting!

**Q: Flash hot shoe, does it include both hot shoe and cold shoe mount?**
A: No. It's a cold shoe

Most other products convert the other direction from a cold shoe to a male stud. I needed mail stud to cold shoe and these work perfectly. I bought them specifically because they are very small very lightweight and do a great job at holding onto my expensive speed lights.
