The key is finding a case built for the Paperwhite version - the other Kindle versions won't fit this case, and other cases won't fit this Kindle.The case turns the Kindle on and off reliably when opening and closing the cover. The cover can be folded completely back around the Kindle without turning the unit off (some cases will turn the Kindle off if you wrap the cover around to the back).
