I had to move it into the next room and run wires so the noise did not get picked up in the recording (not so sure I've fully managed that however). The manufacturer should understand the use case for this product and the fact that this needs to be completely silent at all times. Yes there is a menu option for turning the fan off however based on when it sounds like when it runs on auto I doubt the electronics would survive long with the fan off.
