Very good oven and can get very hot - haven't done this year but from memory about 10 minutes, worth waiting until you have some embers as otherwise might cook faster than intended! **Q: I notice the the cooking area is the same size on the XL plus. Can I ask what the advantage is to the plus size?** A: We didn't purchase the XL plus, we purchased the XL but we bought it for a present for an Xmas present for our son and family and they are over the moon with it. It also acts as a good heater too. They cook for quite a few people and it looks very adequate. **Q: Can you put an extended chimney on it** A: I've not seen a further extension, would buy one if it was not too pricey - was looking at making my own from sheet metal but couldn't get the look right. Option for about 20-30cm would be fantastic - could be stored in the pizza oven area over winter..... **Q: How much space is required around the oven, can i place it close to a fence for instance?** A: Would say it needs about 10-15cm (4-6 inch) minimum - it does get warm but depends on the fence material. Most of the heat is maintained within the oven - except the grill area at the front.
