**Q: If I'm correct, the small rubber top is to help with the pressure. On that note, do you take that little cap off before you open the container?**
A: I did not take the cap off and my children who were using it did not seem to have any trouble.  The food stayed warm for at least 4 hours. It was great!

**Q: Is this thermos easy to open for a 7 year old?**
A: I think so. But I’m sending mine back because it came in a paper thin white box and has a dent. I read this happened to someone else but ordered anyway - happened to me, too. :-(

Product is great. Kept kids food warm for more than half a day. The kids lived the design. The mouth is wide enough to clean. I use the dishwasher. Amongst several ones in the market, this one is really good! The product scratches easily and dents very bad if dropped. The spoon is functional but design can be improved.
