FYI no worries in regards to testing like this. you cannot feel anything whatsoever when testing this way. I just find it to be a quick and effective is all. after the battery is in place and the two halves are screwed back together it's ready for use. place it wherever you want to be forewarned about water intrusion and that's it. I like these better than any we've used over the years simply because of the screw on design. granted it's early in the season but they've already gone off once. that's expected since i turn the sump off over winter and use these to know when it's time to power it up again. so, so far so good! No alarm first time. Alarm is not very loud 1 floor up (they are in my basement). It was faint beeping. Sump pump got clogged after first flood and these alarms both started beeping.
