Frankly the wood finished in my house is Cherry slightly redder than Walnut which I prefer anyway so I got this stain to both treat and modify the original color of these 50-year-old speakers and it worked like a dream!!I put two very heavy coats on them approximately a year apart from each other, wiping off the excess after it was allowed to soak in and after 2 months this was the result!! Beautiful. I used one coat of stain and finished the treads with three coats of polyurethane high traffic.
