Mostly just messy. The biggest problem was that they didn't hold. I have the tool to close the hardware and I have made a ton of key fobs (with fob hardware from a different supplier). The ends on these don't curve in, so the teeth grab the one side of the fabric, but nothing is holding the other side, so a very slight tug could pull the fabric out of the hardware. I wound up taking this hardware off of 20 key fobs and tossing the hardware. Used my normal supplier and they work perfect. I would recommend anyone to STAY AWAY from these.
